Beaumont used a 31-point fourth quarter to get past Culver Academy on Saturday (Dec. 2) afternoon. The Blue Streaks trailed 39-34 entering the final eight minutes but exploded in the final stanza to earn a 65-48 victory.
The freshmen duo of Lydia Gattozzi and Elissa Letterio came on in a big way in the second half. Gattozzi scored all 20 of her points in the last 16 minutes and Letterio – who had five points in the first half – finished with 16 thanks to four triples.
Junior co-captain Hanna Pappas went for 14 points. Sophomore guard Mia Mlynek was inserted into the starting lineup and scored five points, as did her class and backcourt mate Kendall Toppin.
Sophomore Sabrina Fabec scored three points and senior Natalie Haddad added a bucket.
The Blue Streaks are now 2-0 and return to action next Saturday (Dec. 9) with a road game at Western Reserve Academy.
