The Beaumont School varsity lacrosse team went on the road and beat Riverside 20-9 on Saturday (May 1) morning. After the varsity set the tone, the JV team beat the Beavers 6-2.
Senior Jackie Patton led the squad with five goals while also playing a half in goal and making six stops there. Freshman Maggie Brady was credited with four saves during her time between the pipes.
In addition to Patton’s five goals, her classmate Molly Passow scored four times, as did junior Bri Pilla. Junior Lauren Bangasser scored three goals and fellow junior India Williams found the back of the net twice.
Beaumont’s other goals were scored by senior Lilly Kijewski and and freshman Lauren Pevec.
Kijewski, Williams and freshman Elizabeth Passow all had two assists and senior Sophie Eyerman, sophomore Madison Heathcote and Pilla were credited with helpers, too.
Beaumont won 16 of 31 draw controls and had three interceptions: Eyerman, Williams and senior Rhiannon Hunter all took it away from the Beavers.
Coach Brien Shanahan’s team will return to action on Tuesday (May 4) at Hoban. The JV game is first at 5:30 p.m. with varsity to follow at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free and there are no restrictions on fan attendance.
