Girls Varsity Basketball · Ally Ziegler Named News-Herald Athlete of the Week

Beaumont School senior Ally Ziegler was selected by the News-Herald as one of its ‘Athletes of the Week,’ the paper announced Thursday (Feb. 11).

Ziegler averaged 15 points, 11.5 rebounds and three blocks per game last week as the Blue Streaks split their two games with a win over Andrews Osborne Academy on Feb. 1 before a three-point loss to Walsh Jesuit on Feb. 6.

In the victory over AOA on Senior Night, Ziegler came up huge with 21 points, 14 of which came in the second half. She also added 17 rebounds, five blocks and two steals against the Phoenix.

She followed that up with nine points and 10 rebounds against Walsh Jesuit.

Extracurriculars / favorites: My favorite sports memories include winning against Cleveland Central Catholic last year to clinch the NCL White Division title and defeating St. Vincent-St. Mary in double overtime earlier this year. I like to hang out with friends and go shopping in my free time. My favorite subject in school is math, my favorite food is Japanese hibachi and my favorite sports teams are the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Cavaliers.
