The Beaumont School varsity basketball team went on the road and picked up a 50-47 win at Lake Catholic on Monday (Feb. 8) night.

With the win, the Blue Streaks are now 10-8 overall while the host Cougars dropped to 8-10.

Senior Lydia Gattozzi scored a team-high 14 points while her classmates Elissa Letterio and Shannon Blankenship were both in double figures with 10.

Lake Catholic’s Ali Hudak scored a game-high 24 points thanks to four made three-pointers.

The game was tied at 45 late before Blankenship’s put-back put Beaumont in front 47-45. Gattozzi hit a free throw and then Letterio hit two late tosses at the charity stripe to make it a 50-45 game. Lake Catholic added a bucket just before the buzzer to decide the final margin.

Beaumont will conclude the regular season on Wednesday (Feb. 10) at West Geauga. The JV game is at 5:30 p.m. with varsity set for a 7:00 p.m. start.
