The Beaumont School volleyball team won its postseason opener in straight sets over Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy on Wednesday (Oct. 21) night.
Set scores were 25-15, 25-10 and 25-19.
With the win, the Blue Streaks advance to Saturday’s (Oct. 24) sectional final round. Beaumont will host Laurel at 4:00 p.m. and that match will be streamed on www.BeaumontAthletics.or/Live.
Those two teams met way back on Sep. 1 and Beaumont prevailed in four sets.
Senior Darby Leininger was credited with a team-high nine kills on Wednesday night while juniors Alycen Radolovic and Gabby Thomey both had seven and senior Tyah Williams went for six.
Sophomore Sarah Kepreos had three kills while senior Sarah Yohann and juniors Grace Salata and Olivia Tolin had one.
Yohann dished out 25 assists while Salata handed out nine and Hohman chipped in one, too.
Senior libero Bella Peroni led the defensive charge with 17 digs. Junior Molly Bradley was credited with nine digs and senior Sarah Hohman went down in the book for eight.
Williams was credited with a team-high five blocks.
