Girls Varsity Volleyball · Volleyball Team Beats Laurel in Four Sets

The Beaumont School volleyball team knocked off crosstown rival Laurel School in four sets on Tuesday (Sep. 1), a night when the program celebrated its six seniors on Senior Night.

Coach Royer’s team won the first two sets 25-19 and 25-20 before the Gators extended the match by taking the third, 26-24. Beaumont responded by taking the fourth, 25-20.

With the win, the Blue Streaks improved to 2-0 on the young year while Laurel slipped to 3-1.

Juniors India Williams (10) and Gabby Thomey (seven) led the way and combined for 17 kills. Senior Tyah Williams and juniors Alycen Radolovic and Olivia Tolin were credited with five kills each.

Senior Sarah Yohann had 23 assists and junior Grace Salata chipped in nine. Senior Bella Peroni was credited with 21 digs while junior Molly Bradley had seven digs and four aces.

The Blue Streaks return to action on Thursday (Sep. 3) when they travel west to take on perennial power Saint Joseph Academy. Freshmen will get that tripleheader going at 4:30 p.m. JV should start about 5:45 p.m. and varsity in the neighborhood of 7:00 p.m.
