Beaumont School rising senior Bella Peroni announced her commitment to play volleyball at Niagara University on Wednesday (June 17) evening. She can officially sign her National Letter of Intent on November 11th.
Niagara is a Division I institution located about 20 miles northwest of Buffalo. The Purple Eagles compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Many schools came knocking on Peroni’s door. She received her first offer from St. Francis University while on an official visit last year and had taken visits to Rider University and Robert Morris University last fall. More than a dozen other schools had expressed interest too, but Niagara was ultimately the perfect fit.
Peroni, a Chardon native and the daughter of Vic and Gwenn Peroni, is coming off a junior season in which she earned first team All-North Coast League honors to go with second team all-district accolades from the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association. She was also named to the News-Herald Honor Roll.
The 5-foot-7 libero/defensive specialist plays for the Maverick Volleyball Club’s 17-Elite squad.
Peroni carries a 4.56 grade point average which ranks second in her class.
