Girls Varsity Basketball · Beaumont Wins Neighborhood Clash with Hathaway Brown, 60-50

The Beaumont School varsity basketball team took care of neighborhood rival Hathaway Brown, 60-50, on Wednesday (Jan. 8) night.

With the win, the Blue Streaks climbed a game above the break-even mark at 6-5 while Hathaway Brown fell to 0-12.

Junior Lydia Gattozzi led all scorers with 22 points.

Beaumont trailed 16-13 after a quarter and 32-28 at the break but for the second straight time, won the second half to earn a victory.

Coach Russell’s team captured the third quarter 21-10 and the fourth 11-6 to earn a tough ‘W’ down the stretch.

The Blue Streaks will re-enter North Coast League play on Saturday (Jan. 11) when they travel to Cleveland Central Catholic. CCC does not have a junior varsity team so its varsity only and tip is at 1:30 p.m.
