Girls Varsity Cross Country · Blue Streaks Finish Third, Earn Spot at Regional Meet


The Beaumont School cross country team came in third place at the Division II District Meet that was held on Saturday (Oct. 19) at Lorain County Community College in Elyria.

Tallmadge won the meet (53 points) and Woodridge (63) edged Beaumont (65) by two points for second place. Hathaway Brown (110) and Cloverleaf (164) rounded out the top-five.

The top five teams plus any individual who finished in the top-20 qualified for next Saturday’s (Oct. 26) Regional Meet at Boardman High School in Youngstown.

Senior Mia Mlynek ran a 19:19.20 which was good for third place and her classmate Addy Ciecierski was right behind her in 19:29.53.

Fellow senior Carly Perusek was 13th in the field of 99 runners as she crossed the finish line in 20:37.45.

Freshman Sophia Pomnean (21:00.24) and junior Claire Wolf (21:01.40) were 22nd and 23rd, respectively.

Ninth grader Mya Salerno came in 30th (21:29.69) and junior Katherine Pomnean finished 34th in 21:34.83.
