Senior Colleen Martin recorded a hat trick as the Beaumont School soccer team beat Warren John F. Kennedy by a score of 6-2 on Tuesday (Sep. 3) night.
The Blue Streaks have won four straight matches since dropping the season opener at Beachwood on Aug. 19.
Junior Christina Parker scored the first goal of the match with 8:32 left in the half but the Eagles answered less than four minutes later with a goal of their own and the two clubs went into the intermission deadlocked at one.
Martin scored her first goal in the 42nd minute and added a second score less than four minutes later.
Freshman Sophia Boes widened the lead with her fifth goal in as many matches and suddenly, the Beaumont lead was three at 4-1 with 23:44 to go.
JFK scored with 16:08 remaining to cut the deficit to two, but Parker’s second goal of the night with 5:02 to play and Martin’s third tally 39 seconds later put the game well out of reach.
Beaumont will look to keep the good times rolling on Saturday (Sep. 7) when the program gets together with crosstown rival Cleveland Heights at Denison Park.
The JV match starts at 5:00 p.m. and varsity is set for 7:00 p.m. Beaumont is the home team this year.
