The Beaumont School cross country team opened the 2019 season with a third place finish at the Frank Gibas Invitational, hosted by Kenston High School on Saturday (Aug. 31) morning.
Seniors Mia Mlynek (18:44) and Addison Ciecierski (18:51.7) finished first and second, respectively, in the field of 230 runners to help the Blue Streaks crack the top-three in a 26-team field.
Kenston won the event with a score of 82 while Green’s 119 was also ahead of Beaumont’s 127. Highland (181) and Solon (181) rounded out the top-five.

Fellow senior Carly Perusek ran a 19:59.3 which was good for 19th while junior Claire Wolf (21:10.7) and freshman Sophia Pomnean (21:11.6) finished next to each other in 52nd and 53rd place.
Junior Katherine Pomnean finished 63rd with a time of 21:28.0 while freshman Mya Salerno ran a 21:31.2 in her first high school race, slotting her 64th.

Sophomore Anja Rowane, freshman Alexa McDade, freshman Emma Furjanic and sophomore Audra Hartman all finished in the top-20.
