The Beaumont School soccer team went on the road and beat Cuyahoga Heights by a score of 3-1 on Monday (Aug. 26) night.
With the victory, the Blue Streaks improved to 2-1 on the young year.
Beaumont struck early when senior Colleen Martin scored her first goal of the year off a pass from freshman Sophia Boes. Shortly after, Boes scored a goal of her own off a corner from her classmate Ellie Olack to widen the gap.
The Blue Streaks took that 2-0 lead into the intermission and that remained the score until the Redskins cut the deficit in half with 35:10 to play.
Junior Christina Parker provided an insurance goal down the stretch when she took a Boes pass and slammed it home for her first goal of 2019.
Senior goalkeeper Katie Bagley and her defense were able to make the lead hold up, helping the club match last year’s regular season win total in just three contests.
The Blue Streaks return to action on Thursday (Aug. 29) against Chardon at Conway Field on campus. JV will start at 4:15 p.m. with varsity slated for a 6:15 p.m. start.
