Girls Varsity Soccer · Soccer Team Beats Parma, 2-1

The Beaumont School varsity soccer team picked up its first victory of the season on Wednesday (Aug. 21) night with a 2-1 triumph over Parma Senior High School.

With the win, the Blue Streaks evened their record at 1-1 while the Lady Redmen dipped to 0-2.

Freshman Ellie Olack put Beaumont in front 1-0 in the 13th minute before her classmates Makende Stewart and Sophia Boes connected for a goal with 12:44 to go in the first half. It was the second time in as many matches that Stewart recorded an assist and Boes scored a goal.

It remained a 2-0 game until Parma scored with 14:59 to play but the Blue Streaks held on down the stretch to preserve the win.

Senior Katie Bagley answered the bell in goal and the defense in front of her was solid all night.

Beaumont is idle until Monday (Aug. 26) when a trip to Cuyahoga Heights is on the schedule. Due to numbers at Cuyahoga Heights, the teams will play an 8 v. 8 JV game starting at 5:30 p.m. before the varsity match at 7:00 p.m.

JV: Beaumont 2, Parma 0 (After Monday’s 5-0 win at Beachwood, Beaumont’s JV team has outscored the opposition 7-0 on the young year.)
