The Beaumont School lacrosse team was a 16-10 winner over Painesville Riverside on Senior Night (May 6).
Senior Parker Haynes was credited with five goals while her classmate Gracie Stover had four and fellow senior Maddie Hansen scored three times.
Beaumont’s first goal was scored by senior Bridget Spolar. Sophomore Maggie Milam scored and the other two Blue Streak tallies were team/own goals.
Spolar, Stover and junior Katie Bagley all had an assist and sophomore Jackie Patton made 10 saves in goal.
The Blue Streaks were 50 percent (12-24) on the draw control with Haynes winning eight times.
It was a 6-4 game at halftime and the Blue Streaks never relinquished the lead — but it got dicey.
After two Riverside goals made it a 10-8 game with 14:54 remaining, Haynes made it an 11-8 game and then the Beavers answered with two scores of their own to make it a one-score affair.
From that point on, Beaumont closed the game on a 5-0 run.
Coach Shanahan’s team is back at it on Tuesday (May 7) with a game at Chardon. It’s varsity only and that contest starts at 7:00 p.m.
