Girls Varsity Track · Blue Streaks Shine at NCL Track and Field Championships


The Beaumont School track and field team took fifth place at the North Coast League Championships, held Tuesday (April 30) and Thursday (May 2) at Padua Franciscan High School.

After a nice start on Day One, the Blue Streaks added 58 more points on Thursday.

Junior Mia Mlynek (5:09.56) and senior Ashley Rulison (5:12.22) went two-three in the 1600 meter run and Mlynek added a third place finish in the 800 (2:22.76).

Rulison and junior Addison Ciecierski finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 3200 with times of 11:37.84 and 11:39.96.

Junior Hannah Heathcote scored eight points thanks to a third place finish in the 100 hurdles (18.34) and a fifth place in the 300 hurdles (49.87).

Freshman Patricia O’Neill chipped in four points in the 200 after she crossed the finish line in 27.26.

The Blue Streaks were second in the 4×200 relay and came in third in both the 4×100 and 4×400.

O’Neill and her sophomore sister JoJo, freshman Reese Brady and junior Kendall Toppin made up the 4×200 team that covered the distance in 1:49.56. That same group ran the 4×100 in 52.94.

The 4×400 team was sophomore Lizzie Rubadue, Toppin, Rulison and Mlynek and they were done in 4:11.51.
