The Beaumont School softball team used an eight-run sixth inning to propel itself to a 12-7 win over Hathaway Brown in the season opener played on Tuesday (April 2) afternoon at Forest Hills Park.
Beaumont trailed 3-1 early and 7-4 heading into the home half of the sixth inning before knocking down the door.
Sophomore Maggie Lindner started in the circle and gave way to senior Macie Bell. Bell ultimately earned the W to start her senior campaign 1-0.
Junior Halle Gavin delivered the big blow with a two-out double to left field that plated sophomore catcher Christina Dalton to push Beaumont in front 8-7 in the sixth.
Beaumont benefited from senior Char Sparks using her speed to manufacture runs from her leadoff slot and sophomore Sky Miller doing the same out of the seven-hole.
The Blue Streaks are scheduled to travel to Laurel School’s Butler Campus today after school. First pitch against the Gators is set for 5:00 p.m.
