Girls Varsity Basketball · Blue Streaks Win Third in a Row with Victory Over Aquinas


The Beaumont School varsity basketball team won its third straight game with a 74-27 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas at Ursuline College on Saturday (Jan. 12) afternoon.

With the win, the Blue Streaks are now 10-5 on the year and 4-4 in the North Coast League.

Junior Carly Perusek scored 16 points and sophomore Lydia Gattozzi went for 15. Junior Elizabeth Carvajal  (12) was the other Blue Streak to score in double figures.

Coach Russell’s team forced the Knights to turn it over 24 times in the first half and 28 times in the game.

Beaumont will conclude its four-game homestand on Wednesday (Jan. 16) as Lake Ridge Academy comes to Cleveland Heights. The Blue Streak JV team will play Elyria Catholic High School at 5:30 p.m. with the varsity game against LRA set for a 7:00 p.m. start.
