Girls Varsity Basketball · Beaumont Takes Care of VASJ, 84-59


Beaumont School hit 12 three-pointers on its way to an 84-59 win over Villa Angela-St. Joseph on Saturday (Jan. 5) afternoon.

Sophomores Lydia Gattozzi and Elissa Letterio both hit three treys, as did junior Elizabeth Carvajal. Junior Carly Perusek connected on one from beyond the arc, as did seniors Brigida Erjavec and Hanna Pappas.

Gattozzi led all scorers with 20 points while Carvajal (15) and Perusek (14) were both in double figures.

Willo Singleton led VASJ with 16 points.

With the win, the Blue Streaks are now 8-5 overall and 3-3 in the North Coast League. The eight wins surpass last season’s win total with nine games remaining in the regular season.

Beaumont is back at it on Tuesday (Jan. 8) as Western Reserve Academy comes to Cleveland Heights. JV tips at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity game should start in the neighborhood of 7:00 p.m.
