Girls Varsity Cross Country · Cross Country Team Wins District Title, Ciecierski Repeats as Champ


Beaumont School junior Addison Ciecierski won the Division II district cross country meet for the second straight year and her performance helped propel the Blue Streaks to the team title at Lorain County Community College on Saturday (Oct. 20).

Beaumont finished with 64 placers and runner-up Woodridge turned in a 102. The other three teams to qualify for next week’s regional meet were Bay (119), Tallmadge (135) and Cloverleaf (142).

Ciecierski won the race in 19:21.28, almost nine seconds ahead of Tallmadge’s Kenna Loveless (19:30.19). Isabella Payne from CVCA was third (19:37.96) before Beaumont junior Mia Mlynek who took fourth in 19:44.22.

Senior Ashley Rulison placed ninth with a time of 20:51.14 and junior Carly Perusek finished in 20:51.14 which was good for 14th place.

Sophomore Claire Wolf was Beaumont’s fifth placer as her 21:41.58 slotted her 36th. Her classmate Katherine Pomnean came in 46th (22:03.75) and freshman Anja Rowane covered the course in 22:29.50 which earned her 56th place on Saturday.

The Blue Streaks will run again next Saturday (Oct. 27) at the Division II regional meet which is being hosted by Boardman High School in Youngstown. The girls Division II race is set for 2:15 p.m.
