The Beaumont School golf team placed sixth in a field of 12 teams at the Division II district tournament played Tuesday (Oct. 2) at Tam O’Shanter Golf Course in Canton.
Just the top two teams and the top two individual scores not on a qualifying team advanced to the state tournament.
Beaumont shot a 409 while Mooney (370) and Laurel (371) finished one-two to move on to Columbus. Sam Webb from Lutheran West shot a 77 and Jelena Lainovic from Andrews Osborne Academy fired an 81 to grab the two individual bids.
Freshman Lauren Bangasser started on the 10th hole and shot a 46 before adding a 45 on the course’s front nine to total a 91, good for an 11th place tie.
Senior Natalie Noble carded a 48 on the back nine and a 46 on the front. Her 94 was good for 15th place.
Junior Nyomi Morris tied Bangasser with a team-best 46 on the back and her 52 strokes on the front half of the course left her with a 98, tying her for 21st in the field of 71 golfers.
Sophomore Katherine Foerg shot a 126 and Olivia Panichi came in with a 134.
Thanks to Coach Trovato and our golf team for a great season!
