The Beaumont School varsity lacrosse team went on the road and beat Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary by a score of 14-8 on Thursday (May 3) night.
Beaumont jumped out to an early 5-0 lead and never looked back. Junior Grace Stover scored four of the team’s first five goals with the other coming from classmate Parker Haynes.
After the Irish got on the board, sophomore Katie Bagley and senior Mary Bova scored to give Beaumont a 7-1 advantage before the home team stopped the mini-run with a goal of its own.
Bagley and Haynes scored again to make it a 9-2 game and then the teams traded goals right before the half – Beaumont’s coming from senior Jewell Johnson – to make it a 10-3 game at the intermission.
Stover started the second half with another goal before SVSM answered 13 seconds later.
Senior Lily Wagner scored to make it a 12-4 game and then the Irish went on a three-goal spree to cut the lead to five at 12-7.
Junior Maddie Hansen beat the Irish keeper with 7:39 to play and again with 4:27 to play to round out the Beaumont scoring.
Senior Liz Jerse was solid in goal to earn the victory.
Beaumont is back at it on Wednesday (May 9) as Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin comes to Conway Field for the regular season finale. The Blue Streaks will honor their seniors Wednesday as part of Senior Night festivities.
