Girls Varsity Basketball · Basketball Program Announces North Coast League Honors

Beaumont School held its 2017-18 Winter Sports Banquet on Wednesday (March 7) night and head basketball coach Derrick Russell announced North Coast League honors.

Freshman wing Lydia Gattozzi was the lone rookie to make the North Coast League first team after a season in which she averaged 16.3 points per game. She finished with 20+ points eight times and she scored in double figures in 19 of the team’s 23 contests.

Sophomore guard Mia Mlynek earned a spot on the NCL second team. She led the team in three-point shooting and averaged 8.2 points per game. Mlynek had a stretch in mid-January where she recorded career-highs in scoring in back-to-back games (21 points v. West Geauga and 26 points v. Padua) and garnered News-Herald Player of the Week accolades.

Juniors Brigida Erjavec and Hanna Pappas earned honorable mention status, as did sophomore Kendall Toppin and freshmen Tamya Edwards and Elissa Letterio.
