District Champs

Beaumont School defeated Gilmour Academy in a five-set thriller in Saturday (Oct. 28) afternoon’s district championship match at Brush High School. With the win, the Blue Streaks advance to the Sweet 16 where they will meet Wooster Triway High School.

That match will be played at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday (Nov. 2) night at Stow-Munroe Falls High School. Pre-sale tickets will go on sale Tuesday (Oct. 31) in the Beaumont athletic department.

Coach Pat Royer’s team entered the regular season finale against Magnificat on October 12th with a record of 3-18. After winning the Battle of the Blue Streaks, Beaumont has kept on going and won four straight postseason contests, the most recent coming over the team that finished the regular season ranked third in the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association poll.

Senior Madison Kasper had 28 kills against the Lancers to give her 1,020 in her career.

Triway defeated Tallmadge on Saturday to win its first district title since 2013. The Titans are 22-2.
