Cayla MercurioMercurio, Cayla

Cayla Mercurio remembers not only her years at Beaumont participating in track, basketball, and cross-country, but also the many laughs and great friendships she shared with her teammates. Cayla, who was involved in both track and cross-country as a distance runner for three years and played for four years as a power forward/guard in basketball, has decided that she will be attending Ohio State. While her college major remains undecided currently, she can be certain of one thing; her experience with sports at Beaumont has resulted in strong friendships and memories that she will never leave behind.  Aside from participating in Beaumont sports, Cayla also spends her time partaking in student council, doing yoga, and running in her free time. After she spends so much of her time being involved in both school and sports, you may even find Cayla relaxing and treating herself to her favorite foods of ice cream and peanut butter. As her time at Beaumont comes to an end, Cayla will carry with her the things she learned and will keep in mind the words of the quote she finds most compelling, “You either suffer the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. Pick a side.” Cayla, in both sports and in her future, can relate to her favorite athlete, Alex Morgan, who says, “In order to succeed, you must first believe that you can.”
