Tennis Team Takes Second at NCL White Division Tournament

2017 NCL Girls Tennis Tournament

The Beaumont School tennis team took second place at the North Coast League’s White Division Tournament which was held at Ursuline College on Saturday (Sep. 23).

Archbishop Hoban won the tournament with 20 points while Beaumont’s three second place finishes in the singles events propelled the Blue Streaks to score 12 team points.

Lake Catholic and Padua Franciscan tied for third with nine team points.

Senior Juliana Rowane won her opening round match in first singles in just under four hours before falling to Hoban’s Emily Day in the championship bout.

Sophomore Amanda Desamito was the runner-up at second singles and senior Ming Wei Patrick placed second at third singles.

Beaumont’s first doubles duo of senior Elzada Alveranga and Sydney Smith came in third place while the second doubles team of senior Destiney Hunter and sophomore Nicolette Kelley finished fourth.

The Blue Streaks have four road matches on the docket this week (Sep. 25-28). Beaumont is at Beachwood on Monday, Hawken on Tuesday and Andrews Osborne on Wednesday before finishing up the week with a trip to West Geagua on Thursday.
